Major Experiences
In 1992 and 1995, he received bachelor's and master's degrees from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, First Military Medical University. In 2002, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and stayed at the university. In 2005, the Medical Information Processing Laboratory was founded in the Institute of Surgical Technology and Biomechanics, University of Berne and served as the director of the laboratory. In 2010, he was awarded the title of Private dozent (PD) of the University of Bern, and then served as an associate professor of the University of Bern in 2015 until the end of 2018. Joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University on January 1, 2019. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and director of the Image Navigation Intervention Center of Medical Robot Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
From May to June 2018, he was invited by the Japan Academic Revitalization Conference to be a visiting professor at Nara Avant-garde University of Science and Technology.
Before returning to China, he presided over three innovation projects of the Swiss Innovation Agency, three projects of the Swiss Natural Science Foundation, and one project of scientific and technological cooperation between Japan and Switzerland. At the same time, he received four projects of the Swiss Natural Science Foundation as a co-applicant. More than 220 peer-reviewed international conferences and magazine papers have been published, and Google cites 3,538 times. Three books have been published by Springer and Elsevier, two famous international publishers. Eight invention patents have been authorized in the United States and Europe.
In 2006 and 2018, he will be awarded the Best Technical Paper of the International Computer-Assisted Orthopaedics Annual Conference, the Springer Best Paper Award of the International Conference on Image Analysis and Recognition in 2018, the Best Paper Award of the Symposium on Computing Methods and Clinical Applications in MICCAI Spinal Imaging in 2018, and the Best Paper of the Machine Learning Symposium in MICCAI Medical Imaging in 2017. In 2014, he won the Publishing Paper Award of the International Conference on Computer-Assisted Radiology and Surgery, the Best Basic Paper Award of Journal of Laryngology and Otology in 2012, and the Ypsomed Innovation Foundation Research and Development Award in 2009. In 2014, he won the first prize in the International Statistical Shape Modeling Congress Modeling Competition, and in 2017, he won the third place in a total of 21 teams in the International Baby Brain Image Segmentation Competition.
